Preparing a manuscript for submission to Radiation Physics and Engineering:

To submit your manuscript to RPE, you need to complete all the online submission steps. Incomplete submissions will be automatically removed after 30 days.

You need to enter the manuscript information as follows:

1- Manuscript type selection:

Manuscript can be an original paper which is a full research article, or review article which is an authoritative review of a subject important to the field of Nuclear science.

2- The Full and running title of the manuscript:

The full title must be concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. For a good title, use the keywords in the title. It is best practice to start the title with those words, as words earlier in a title will get more value.

RPE requires that a running title, also known as a running head or short title, be included in submission process. A running title is a shortened form of the main title and must be 70 characters long at most, including spaces. To achieve brevity, it typically includes abbreviations, while the main title does not and (the, a, an) can also be omitted to conserve characters. However, if the main title is brief enough, it can function as the running head as well.

 3- Add/removes authors:

Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Please enter the name and details of all authors (other than the submitter author) who contributed to the work reported in your manuscript. For email address of each author, it is better to enter an academic email address.

4- Enter abstract:

Submitting a concise and factual abstract is required for submission. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, References should be avoided, but if essential, then cite the author(s) and year(s). Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself. As per the journal style, the minimum and maximum words for abstract are 150 and 250, respectively.

 5- Keywords:

Submitting of 4 to 7 keywords is required for submission.

 6- Suggest reviewers:

Suggestion of potential reviewers is required (at least 2 reviewers) for submission. Please give us correct contact information for each suggested reviewer. Please note that the journal may not use your suggestions, but your help is appreciated and may speed up the selection of appropriate reviewers.

7- Uploading the files related to your manuscript:

the files related to your manuscript must match exactly the following format.

Title page (PDF file for first submission):

Following information must be included in title page:

•Title: Exactly the same as the title entered in submission process

•Author names and affiliations: Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. You can add your name between parentheses in your own script behind the English transliteration. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name.

•Corresponding author: Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication. This responsibility includes answering any future queries about Methodology and Materials. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.

•Running title: Exactly the same as the running title entered in submission process.

•Keywords: Exactly the same as the keywords entered in submission process.

 Manuscript main file:

PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO FOLLOWING TOPICS:

•Language: Papers can be submitted only in the English language.

•Units: Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other units are mentioned, please give their equivalent in SI.

•Math formula: Please submit math equations as editable text and not as images. Present simple formulae in line with normal text where possible and use the solidus (/) instead of a horizontal line for small fractional terms, e.g., X/Y. In principle, variables are to be presented in italics. Powers of e are often more conveniently denoted by exp. Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly in the text).

•If you prepare the manuscript with Microsoft word, please use MATH TYPE instead of EQUATION for math equations.

Manuscript main file must have page numbering.

Manuscript main file must  be single column and 1.5 spaced.

Manuscript main file must include all figures (include relevant captions). The authors can use colored figures, however, the print version of the articles are not colored. Ensure that each illustration has a caption. Supply captions separately, not attached to the figure. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Tables must be placed next to the relevant text in the article, and on separate page(s) at the end. Number figures consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text.

Manuscript main file must include all tables (including titles, description, footnotes).  Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables must be placed next to the relevant text in the article, and on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

Manuscript main file for the first submission (not revised format) must be a PDF file.

The main file must begin with title, running title, the name and affiliation of authors, abstract and keywords which must be exactly the same as entered data in online submission process.

Main body:

Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

RPE has no explicit requirements for section organization. As a guideline, we recommend that your manuscript contains the following sections.

Introduction

The introduction section of the main text expands on the background of the work (some overlap with the Abstract is acceptable). The background should put your paper into context and must be clear so that readers are able to understand the aims, purpose and significance of your research.

 Material and Methods

Provide sufficient details to allow the work to be reproduced by an independent researcher. Methods that are already published should be summarized, and indicated by a reference. If quoting directly from a previously published method, use quotation marks and also cite the source. Any modifications to existing methods should also be described.

 Results

Results should be clear and concise.

 Discussion

This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

 Conclusions

The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.

 Acknowledgements

Acknowledgements should be brief, and should not include effusive comments. Grant or contribution numbers may be acknowledged.

Conflict of interest

Authors must clearly state any possible conflict of interest such as receiving payment for the article, or acquiring stock or shares in an organization that may be gained or lost through the publication of the  article. If there is no conflict of interest, the following sentence should be added to the end of the article, before acknowledgments: "No conflicts of interest are declared by the authors"

 Appendices

If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, etc. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similarly for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.
